HistoryConnects - interactive video conferencing

HistoryConnects is an outreach education initiative by the Virginia Historical Society utilizing cutting-edge technology, including interactive videoconferencing, web conferencing, Skype, podcasts, and online courses to reach learners of all ages across Virginia and around the globe! The VHS is proud to be among the nation's leaders in providing interactive distance learning content. Our programs reinforce both national and state standards of learning, while offering interactive, informative, and engaging explorations of history for all ages. HistoryConnects programming is offered to Virginia schools at a reduced rate, and a limited number of free programs will be made available through the Skype in the Classroom partnership.   • utilize the VHS collections, primary sources, replica artifacts, and a trained museum educator
  • are aligned to state and national standards
  • can be customized for all ages and groups
